Winter Troubles

I'm a rookie author and this is my first Santa Clause 2 fic. I'm newer to the movies so the characters may be very OOC. I wanted to write a story that wasn't involving an original character falling in love with Bernard. I didn't really want to have an OC in the story but that didn't work out.
Kaju is my character that I play in an RPG. He isn't mean at all. If you want to see a pic of him, e-mail me. Any way, I don't own anyone besides Kaju so you can't sue me.

Bernard, Head Elf of the North Pole, grumbled as he climbed wearily out of bed to answer the knocking on his door. He wasn't feeling well that morning so that didn't put him in the best of moods. Christmas had come and gone a week ago so the elves weren't working too hard.
He reached the door and wrenched it open, glaring at the offender. His gaze softened as he saw who it was.
"Oh, hello Judy." The young elf smiled brightly. "I'm sorry I woke you Bernard, but you got a letter!" Mail for the elves was rare, so on the occassion that someone received a letter it caused excitment.
Bernard took the letter calmly and thanked the girl before closing the door. He walked to his bed and opened the envelope. "Wonder who would send me anything." He frowned as he read the short letter, a migraine forming. "How could they...? They have no right after what they did. I told him I never wanted to hear from him ever again!"
He gripped the letter tightly before storming out of the room. Halfway to the workshop he collided rather forcefully with a large figure. Dazed, he looked up.
"Alright there Bernard?" Santa asked, concerned. Bernard sighed and dusted himself off. "I'm fine." The reply was hinted with a slight bitterness. "Bernard, is something wrong?" Santa placed a hand on the elf's shoulder. The elf shrugged away and stepped back. "It isn't any of your business, Santa." Bernard stalked back to his room, slamming the door behind him.
Scott Calvin watched the Head Elf, extremely confused. Bending down, he picked up a piece of paper that the elf had seemed to have dropped.
Bernard,You have to meet me when you recieve this. We have something to discuss. Do not try to avoid me. I know where you are and you know that I won't hesitate to come to you. I'm giving you the chance to do this of 'free will'.
Your brother Kaju
Santa raised an eyebrow. "What's going on? Perhaps this is what has got Bernard so worked up. He carefully folded the letter and headed towards the Head Elf's room to try to clear the matter up.
A knock on the door sounded for the second time that morning. Bernard glared at the door from the safety of his bed and decided to ignore it. The knocking stopped and a gentle voice called to him. "Bernard, I know you're in there. Please open the door."
Silence answered Santa's call. Scott sighed deeply and left. It was time to ask around about the mysterious Head Elf. Behind him, a head peaked out of the door before disapearing in to the room again.
